Water to the people: drinking water and water for livelihoods - conflicts and alternative concepts in India

Access to water and control over it is not only a matter of survival but an issue of democratic participation of all citizens in the management of their country's natural resources, particularly as conflicts over water increase. This collection of case studies offers insights into promising attempts and successful models of how joint efforts can assist people in their struggle for drinking water as well as water for agricultural use, water as energy source and for the environment.
