State of the world’s forests 2012

This tenth edition of the State of the World's Forests by FAO, says that forests have a major role to play in the transition to a new, greener economy and governments must ensure effective programmes and policies for sustainable forest management.

As the global community looks for ways to move to a greener economy, it is increasingly clear that forests, forestry and forest products must play a central role. This tenth edition of State of the World’s Forests explores the role of forests in human history,
