Smart grid roadmap for India

In view of the growing importance and relevance for smart grids in India, MoP has taken early steps for the development and adoption of smart grid technologies. In 2010MoP constituted the India Smart Grid Task Force (ISGTF), an inter-ministerial body under the Chairmanship of ShriSam Pitroda, Advisor to Prime Minister of India; and the India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF), a PPP initiative of Ministry of Power, Government of India. Both the ISGTF and the ISGF have been functional for over a year and have laid the foundations for building smart grids in India.
