Safe Food Alliance and Coalition for a GM - Free India urge TN CM to hoist a "Non-Monsanto Indian flag" this Independence Day

On the eve of the 67 th Independence day, Safe Food Alliance, Tamil Nadu which is one of the constituents of the Coalition for a GM-free India and ASHA (Alliance for Sustainable and Holistic Agriculture) urged the TN Chief Minister Dr. J.Jayalalithaa to hoist a national flag made of non-Bt cotton on 15th August this year. In a letter faxed to the CM today, the Coalition reminded her of the tragic state that our seed and national sovereignty are in, with even the national flag being made from Bt cotton, a proprietary technology of Monsanto, an American Multinational Corporation.
