A report on problems of salination of land in coastal areas of India and suitable protection measures

This report discusses in detail the occurrence of coastal land salinity, its impact on crop yield and environment, and various management techniques to mitigate the adverse impacts, including those of coastal flooding arising from storm surges and anticipated climate change. The state-wise physiography and drainage, hydrogeology, and, causes and extend of coastal land salinity along with suitable remedial actions taken up by the coastal state/union territories of India are dealt with separately in another chapter. The final chapter brings out the future programs proposed by the coastal states/union territories for mitigation of coastal land salinity,
