Report of the Joint Committee on the Forest (Conservation) Amendment Bill, 2023

The Joint Committee on the Forest (Conservation) Amendment Bill, 2023 presented its report on July 20, 2023. The Bill amends the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980. The Act provides for conservation of forest land. The Bill adds and exempts certain types of land from the purview of the Act. It also allows certain activities such as zoos and safaris to be carried out inside forests. The Committee endorsed all the amendments under the Bill. Five members of the Committee submitted dissent notes.
