This Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India for the year ended 31 March 2021 has been prepared for submission to the Governor of the State of Kerala under Article 151(2) of the Constitution of India for being placed in the State Legislature. The Report covering the period 2016-21 contains the results of Performance Audit of ‘Waste Management in Urban Local Bodies’. This Report on ' Waste Management in Urban Local Bodies ' comprises of six chapters. Chapter I forms the Introductory part, Chapter II deals with Planning and Financial Management, Chapter III deals with Segregation, Collection and Transportation of Waste and Chapter IV with Processing and Disposal of Waste, Chapter V deals with Management of Plastic Waste, Bio-Medical Waste, E-Waste and Construction and Demolition Waste and Chapter VI includes Monitoring.
