Report of the Committee (Justice A. P. Shah Committee) on dispute regarding oil and gas blocks in Krishna-Godavari Basin

A government-appointed panel examining a dispute over migration of gas from Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC)-held blocks in the Bay of Bengal to adjacent fields of Reliance Industries (RIL) will submit its report to the Ministry of Petroleum by August 31. The single-member committee was formed in December 2015 to look into the dispute related to gas blocks of the two companies in the Krishna-Godavari basin. The ministry asked the Justice AP Shah Committee to quantify how much gas, if any, was from ONGC's fields and to recommend action to be taken to make good the loss to ONGC/government on account of such unfair enrichment.
