Regional trends report on energy for sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific 2016

This report reviews emerging and persistent issues for Asia and the Pacific, including the implementation of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular the SDG 7, focusing particularly on transboundary power trade for energy connectivity and energy access. As one of the three pillars of the Implementation Support Mechanism for the Asian and Pacific Energy Forum (APEF), this report also supports the implementation of the outcomes of the APEF 2013. An overview of the implementation status of the 15 areas of action is provided, to contribute to the final review and prepare for the second APEF, to be held in 2018.
