Indian Wind Energy – A Brief Outlook is a joint publication by GWEC and IWTMA. The report examines the current status of wind power development in India, assesses the potential for future growth, and highlights the socio-economic, environmental and energy security benefits. It pinpoints remaining obstacles, which need to be overcome for India to fully exploit its rich wind resource. The report summarizes the current state of the Indian wind market for members of the industry, policy makers and participants alike to understand the market opportunities. In addition, it gives insights into the challenges going forward for wind power development in India. The Indian wind industry now holds the 4th position in the world with installations of over 31GW, with almost 90% of the investment coming from the private sector.
