The Central Government has introduced the draft Environment (Protection) Seventh Amendment Rules, 2023 . This notification was issued on 8th November, 2023. The draft rules introduce detailed standards for the Pulp and Paper Industry. These include: Effluent standard, Fresh water consumption and effluent discharge standard, and Emission standard.
