Draft Goa Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2023

The Government of Goa on May 15, 2023, published the Draft Goa Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2023 to further amend the Goa Motor Vehicles Rules, 1991. These Rules shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. The following has been amended namely: - In Rule 4 which states “Authorisation to drive public service vehicle” for sub-rule (2), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely: “(2) The Authorization once granted shall be effective throughout the State. The applicant is required to submit a completion certificate of the orientation course conducted by an Institution recognized by the Government. The cost of the orientation program shall be borne by the applicant. PSV Badge holder shall undergo refresher training at the time of renewal of driving license.” After Rule 121 which states “Notification of stands” the following rule shall be inserted namely: - 121A. Parking slots at Manohar International Airport. — Consent from GMR Goa International Airport Ltd., for providing parking slots/pickup bays at Manohar International Airport at Mopa shall be sufficient for the issuance of permits by the Regional Transport Authority.” After rule 158 which states “Painting and marking of motor cabs in a certain manner” the following rule shall be added namely: - “158A. Painting and marking motor cars. — Motorcars attached to Blue Cab Prepaid Taxi Service at Manohar International Airport at Mopa shall be painted in blue color, as prescribed by the Regional Transport Authority, and the rest of the body in white color.”
