Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has made an effort to structure this Environmental Status Report (ESR) using Environmental Media Framework Methodology in which information is categorized based on environmental media like social environment, air, water, solid waste etc.

Birth registration is a critical first step towards protecting children throughout their lives. Nearly 230 million children under the age of five in the world have not had their births registered. The report presents latest available data and estimates on birth registration in 161 countries.

During September 2013, Parliament passed the National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013. The NFSA seeks to make the right to food a legal entitlement by providing subsidised food grains to nearly two-thirds of the population.
