Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) has well established policies governing regulation of nuclear and radiation safety and has all the necessary functional autonomy for conducting the safety reviews and regulatory control of the nuclear and radiation facilities in India.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on pollution due to suspended particles, 21/07/2015. The National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) were revisited and notified in November, 2009. In line with international senerio, the earlier listed pollutant ‘Suspended Particulate Matter’ (SPM) has been withdrawn from the list of notified pollutants.
