Afforestation and reforestation projects under the Clean Development Mechanism

A manual synthesizing the requirements in respect of the project cycle, project documentation, project validation and registration, and monitoring and verification of afforestation and reforestation project activities under the clean development mechanism of the Kyoto Protocol. This manual is intended to serve as a reference guide for prospective project developers, project participants and other stakeholders such as national forest departments in developing countries who are interested in leveraging the opportunity of clean development mechanism (CDM) for promoting conservation and enhancement of forest resources. The manual brings together in one place the rules and regulations applicable to afforestation and reforestation (A/R) projects under the CDM. It integrates the procedural, methodological and technical aspects of A/R CDM projects.
