Bus rapid transit developments in China

This report briefly summarizes the information related to Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) developments in China collected through independent research and a visit to China from April 17-26, 2006 as part of FTA Public Transportation Trade Mission. The purpose of NBRTI's participation in the mission was to visit operational BRT systems and to meet with organizations engaged in BRT planning or operations in China. By establishing initial contact with such organizations, a channel of communications has been opened to exchange information and allow for future cooperation on common problems or programs.

Investigations relating to fire hazards and safety in CNG buses and supplementary report on converted CNG buses

In response to the reports on fire incidents in CNG buses in Delhi, EPCA had constituted an expert committee on May 2, 2006 to investigate the problem. This report has analysed the root cause of bus fire incidents, identified the manufacturing deficiencies and defects pertaining to the engine and sub-system design/ electric installations and electric wiring/gas piping and joints etc.

A progress report on audit of PUC centers and networking of PUC centres in Delhi

This report presents the results of the third party auditing of the PUC centers. It recommends periodic audits every six months and corrective actions based on the findings of the third party auditing of the PUC centres. Presents the finding of the decoy operation in which frauds in a PUC centre was detected. Recommends strong penal action against the defaulters.
