Govt's solar mission aims adding 22,000 MW by 2022

Mr Bibek Bandyopadhyay, Advisor on the Solar Thermal Programme of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has said that the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission aims at setting up 20,000 MW grid solar power and 2,000 MW of off-grid solar power by 2022.

MADURAI: The University of Madras has decided to switch over to solar power within a year in order to cut down its monthly electricity bill.
