Suzlon Green Power Limited (SGP), part of the Suzlon group, will set up 50-Mw wind turbines in Andhra Pradesh with an investment of about Rs 300 crore.

Speaking to Business Standard, SGP projects head N Ramani said the wind farms would come up at Gandikota in Kadapa district and Vajrakudur in Ananatapur district.

Several states have responded well to the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) initiative to introduce a renewable electricity certificate (REC) mechanism.

The Union Secretary for the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Mr Deepak Gupta, today called upon wind energy power generation firms to use the generation-based incentives and accelerated depreciation to help achieve the Plan targets of new capacity addition.
