Wind power body seeks higher tariffs in AP

The Indian Wind Power Association, a representative body of wind energy generation companies, has approached the Andhra Pradesh Government with a request to hike the power tariff from Rs 3.50 to Rs 7 per unit.

This would help attract more investments into the State. Even if such a hike made, the tariff would still be lower than the peak purchase tariff of Rs 8 per unit, it contended.

State to generate 20,000 MW from solar energy in 10 years

States first solar power plant in Kolar

Wind farms to produce 5,000 Mw of power set to come up

The Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) today said, it was estimated that around 5,000 mega watt (Mw) of power can be generated through wind energy in Tamil Nadu. Of this, 4,889 Mw has already achieved in March. The agency also said wind-based power generation will be enhanced further and next focus will be on solar.
