Fuel from C02

A group of chemists in Switzerland has devised a way to convert Ramospheric carbon dioxide - the main greenhouse gas - into fuel (New Scientist Vol 146, No 1971).
The scientists first blew carbon dioxide saturated with water into a matrix of glass wool coated with titanium dioxide, which acts as a catalyst. When the whole arrangement, kept at a temperature of about 500C, was exposed to sunlight, it yielded methane, hydrogen and carbon monoxide - all of which have fuel value.
