The lists of dams have been regrouped as per their location within the territory of a State. The sole purpose of the NRLD is to provide basic information about a dam to any interested party who can then approach the State Government / Authority concerned for further information. At present there are 4845 completed large dams and 347 large dams are under construction in India.
