On November 8, 2017, the European Commission (EC) published its regulatory proposal for post-2020 carbon dioxide targets for new passenger cars and light-commercial vehicles (vans). The proposed regulation would be the third set of mandatory vehicle CO2 performance standards in the European Union (EU).

The consumer protection bill, 2018

This new bill introduced in the Lok Sabha includes provision for fine and imprisonment for adulteration of products, compounding of offences and establishment of the Central Consumer Protection Authority. Celebrities endorsing misleading ads will have to pay penalty of up to Rs 50 lakh and serve a ban of up to three years says this which replaces replaces the Consumer Protection Act 1986.
