Clarification amendment in the categorisation of industries as Red, Orange & Green for grant of consent

Based on the recommendations of Working Group constituted in the 57th Conference of Chairman & Member Secretaries held in August 2010, CPCB prepared a list of industries categorizing them as red, orange & green for granting consent and inventorisation by SPCBs.

Why we need a cleaner, more efficient power sector

On June 2, 2014, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, under President Obama’s Climate Action Plan, proposed a commonsense plan to cut carbon pollution from power plants. This US EPA factsheet explains the need for a clean and more efficient power sector. It says that the proposed Clean Power Plan will cut hundreds of millions of tons of carbon pollution and hundreds of thousands of tons of harmful particle pollution, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides. Together these reductions will provide important health protections to the most vulnerable, such as children and older Americans.

Carbon Pollution Emission Guidelines for Existing Stationary Sources: Electric Utility Generating Units (US Clean Power Plan Proposed Rules )

United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) proposed these rules to cut carbon dioxide emissions from existing coal plants by as much as 30 percent by 2030, compared with 2005 levels. Read text of these rules issued on 2 June 2014.

Regulatory impact analysis for the proposed carbon pollution guidelines for existing power plants and emission standards for modified and reconstructed power plants

EPA released the Clean Power Plan, which contains proposed guidelines for reducing carbon pollution from existing power plants and from modified or reconstructed plants. The proposal aims to cut carbon pollution from the power sector by 30% and cut pollution from particulates, nitrous oxides, and sulphur dioxide by 25% by 2030.
