Mapping hotspots of climate change and food insecurity in the global tropics

This latest study has mapped the “global hotspots “ where climate induced food insecurity is most liekly to happen in the future. It covers highly vulnerable population mainly in Africa, Asia and includes India. Also includes China and Latin America where in fewer than 40 years, the prospect of shorter, hotter or drier growing seasons could imperil hundreds of millions of already-impoverished people.

Guidelines for disposal of mercury Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs)

The use of Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (“CFLs”) is on the rise in Pakistan by reason of exacerbating energy crises. Technology roadmaps: geothermal heat and power

The technology roadmap for Geothermal Heat and Power offers a strategic plan to maximise deployment of these energy resources by 2050. It projects that 1 400 TWh of electricity per year could come from geothermal power by 2050, up from 67 TWh at present. Additionally, geothermal heat (not including ground-source heat pump technology) could contribute 5.8 EJ (1600 TWh) annually by 2050.
