This report on the elephant-human conflict sumbitted by Karnataka elephant task force to high court details recommendations & suggests three-zone approach - elephant conservation zone, elephant-human co-existence zone & elephant removal zone.

The Karnataka Elephant Task Force set up by the high court to look into elephant-human conflict has made several recommendations, including establishing a Karnataka Elephant Expert Group (KEEG), within the state wildlife board, with a broad mandate to plan, advise, and assist in elephant conservation and management in the state. The task force headed by IISc scientist Raman Sukumar suggested a three-zone approach -- elephant conservation zone, elephant-human co-existence zone and elephant removal zone.
