National register of large dams 2012

National Register of Large Dam (NRLD) is a compilation of the large dams in the country prepared as per information received from the owners of the dams. In NRLD the definition of “large dams” has been adopted as per the norms of International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD). At present there are 4818 completed large dams and 375 large dams are under construction in India.
