A climate of change: African Americans, global warming, and a just climate policy in the U.S.

A new report from the Environmental Justice and Climate Change Initiative (EJCC) and Redefining Progress finds that the negative social and economic effects of climate change are amplifying the social inequities that already exist among African Americans, low-income, and other marginalized communities. This groundbreaking study, "A Climate of Change: African Americans, Global Warming, and a Just Climate Policy for the U.S.," goes a step further and examines leading policy solutions in the fight against climate change. It proves that the policies that best address social inequity--such as a polluter-pays mechanism, investments in energy efficiency, and low-income offsets--also best serve the U.S. economy and the environment as a whole.
