Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Wildlife Society of Orissa (Forest Encroachment) Vs State of Odisha & Others dated 12/10/2017 regarding encroachment of forest lands in Odisha. The Affidavit filed by Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, MoEF and CC provides informs the Court that the Government of Odisha has been asked to initiate necessary action to evict the encroachments and MoEF & CC has asked the State to treat this as violation of Indian Forest Act, 1927 and the Orissa Forest Act, 1972.
