Question raised in Lok Sabha on Pollution by Power Plants, 28/04/2016. Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF &CC) have notified Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2015 on 7th December 2015 related to water consumption and emission of Particulate Matter, SOx, NOx & Mercury from thermal power plants. All the thermal power plants are required to install requisite pollution control equipment to meet these norms.
