Meeting the climate challenge: recommendations of the international climate change task force

The Taskforce's recommendations are to all governments and policymakers worldwide. They are published in the year when the UK holds the presidencies of the G8 and EU, during which the UK's Prime Minister Tony Blair has pledged to make climate change an agenda priority as one of the most serious and far-reaching challenges of the twenty-first century. It is also the year in which the Kyoto Protocol comes into force and nations start discussions on future global action on climate change.

It works under the aegis of The School of Desert Sciences (SDS) and draw its strength from its networking partner NGO's, CBO's, experts and individuals. CDM country guide for India

Detecting coalfires with remote sensing: a comparative study of selected countries

Coalfires, both underground and on the surface, are a serious problem in most major coal-producing countries of the Asia-Pacific region including China, India and Indonesia. Australia also experiences similar problems but on a somewhat smaller scale. Coal fires produce large quantities of CO2 along with several other noxious gases such as carbon monoxide, oxides of sulphur and methane. It has been noted that greenhouse gas emissions from coalfires are significant enough to create a global impact.
