The concept paper describes the problems of the city of Agra and the anxeityy of the Hon'ble Supreme Court articulated in the various orders passed in connection with the Writ Petition (Civil) No. 13381/84-M.C. Mehta Vs. Union of India & Others. The paper also goes on to describe the various projects of the Taj Protection Mission.

Existence of Lake Nainital has been a matter of debate in the last two decades, because it is the only source of drinking water to Nainital city, a famous tourist resort in northern India. In the tectonically active lake basin, naturally occurring landslides have genered sediments in huge amount.

The Government of India, has notified Biomedical Waste (Management and handing) Rules, 1998 under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and is applicable to all persons who generate, collect, receive, store, transport, treat, dispose, or handle biomedical waste in any form.
