Electric mobility in India is at its infancy and evolving rapidly. As public bus fleets in the cities move towards becoming electric, it is necessary that charging stations are deployed in a planned and meticulous manner. This research intends to facilitate the transition of public bus mobility in a Tier-I or Tier-II city in India to becoming fully electric. It provides insights into e-buses and the charging technology market and well as recommendations for setting up the charging infrastructure for an intra-city e-bus fleet. It takes into cognizance the types of charging technologies and their technical and commercial details, the available electricity distribution network, the current e-bus specifications, the intra-city bus operation and route features, and the space requirement, all together.
