Bangladesh Road Transport Authority
Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) was Established under section 2A of Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1983, (Amendment-1987) Vide SRO No-303/Law/87/MVRT/1E-7/84(part), Dated 20/12/87 and has been functioning since January 1988. BRTA is a regulatory body to control manage and ensure discipline in the road transport sector and road safety related areas in Bangladesh. It is an authority under the Ministry of Communication for carrying out the purposes mentioned in the Motor Vehicle Ordinance, 1983. The Chairman is the chief executive of the authority. He exercises such power and performs such function as prescribed by rules and assigned by the government from time to time.

Ministry of Transport (Sri Lanka)

Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport
Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport established in 2000 during the course of the reorganization Government of Nepal. The main aim of reorganization was to bring important infrastructural development under the umbrella of a single Ministry and to harmonize the policies and bring efficiencies and effectiveness in the provision of infrastructural services.

Central Road Research Institute
The Institute, established in 1948, is a National Research Laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research New Delhi India. The institute is an ISO 9001 certified organisation for providing services in Road and Transport Research. Highway Engineering, Pavement design & maintenance, Traffic & Transport planning, Geotechnical and Bridge Engineering are the major areas.
National Highways Authority of India
The National Highways Authority of India was constituted by an act of Parliament, the National Highways Authority of India Act,1988. It is responsible for the development, maintenance and management of National Highways entrusted to it and for matters connected or incidental thereto. The Authority was operationalised in Feb, 1995.
Ministry of Civil Aviation
Ministry of Civil Aviation is the nodal Ministry responsible for the formulation of national policies and programmes for development and regulation of Civil Aviation and for devising and implementing schemes for the orderly growth and expansion of civil air transport. Its functions also extend to overseeing airport facilities, air traffic services and carriage of passengers and goods by air. The Ministry also administers implementation of the Aircraft Act, 1934 and is administratively responsible for the Commission of Railways Safety, a statutory body set up under The Indian Railways Act.
Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways
An apex organisation under the Central Government, is entrusted with the task of formulating and administering, in consultation with other Central Ministries/Departments, State Governments/UT Administrations, organisations and individuals, policies for Road Transport, National Highways and Transport Research with a view to increasing the mobility and efficiency of the road transport system in the country. The Department has two wings: Roads wing and Transport wing.
