Egypt, with the highest population in the area, is already considered to be in the water scarcity limit. Thus, there is an increasing need for desalted water to cope with the population growth and development. It is essential to determine the capital, operating and unit cost for producing water by desalination.

Urban waste management are being increasingly transformed from a disposal-based linear system to a recovery-based closed-loop system that promotes the conservation of water and nutrient resources thereby contributing to sustainable development. The current manuscript compares the decentralized and centralized approaches to wastewater systems by citing several studies that have listed various well-defined criteria to choose decentralized systems over centralized systems.

Water industry due to its unique nature faces many problems. Civic bodies will have to manage the supply of water from the limited water resources in order to fulfill the ever increasing demand of water. It is a very challenging task. This paper presents the results of the study carried out to solve the problems faced by the water supply industry in urban areas with the help of GIS.

Ground water abstraction is increasing day by day due to its increasing demand for various uses. Hosur union of Krishnagiri District, completely depends on ground water for drinking purpose, since the surface water from Penniyar River is very limited. In the present study the assessment of ground water quantity of this region is taken up, to ascertain the safe yield.

This study evaluated the microbiological quality of treated and untreated water samples from urban and rural communities and examined the relationship between coliforms occurence & average water temperature and a comparison of the rainfall levels.

Drainage characteristics of a river basin reflect its hydrologic behavior and area useful when quantified in evaluating the hydrologic response of the basin. The Sur river basin is a fifth order basin. The basin shape parameters are not within the standard values given for a good and ideal basin.
