They understand that a small population base can limit the frequency and span of public transport, but want and deserve an acceptable minimum level of service that offers travel choices. Watershed development is an important component of rural development and natural resource management strategies in many countries. A watershed is a special kind of common pool resource: an area defined by hydrological linkages where

The Policy Environment and Internal Operational Environment of State Transport Undertakings are discussed first to highlight the impact they make on the performance of these corporations. Most of the medicinal plants grow wild and are collected from forests. Hundreds, and possibly thousands, of plant species are being harvested by millions of poor rural population and used by millions around the world for treating a variety of illnesses.
The present study is based mainly on primary data collected from the farmers of Uttaranchal who have been cultivating some of the medicinal and aromatic crops.

The present study aimed to get an idea of the effect of fertilizer, pesticides, irrigation and HYV area and their role in increasing the foodgrain productivity in West Bengal. In this study various models are used to identify the relationship between yield and each modern input.

Agriculture in India is subject to variety of risks arising from rainfall aberrations, temperature fluctuations, hailstorms, cyclones, floods and climate change. These risks are exacerbated by price fluctuation, weak rural infrastructure, imperfect markets and lack of financial services including limited span and design of risk mitigation instruments such as credit and insurance.

Monitoring of ambient air quality and noise pollution was conducted at 'Asselmetta junction' in Visakhapatnam city (Andhra Pradesh), which is heart of the city with an important traffic junction and a well known business center. In this area, monitoring was done for 10 days over RSPM, TSPM, NOx and SO2 levels in the air using 'noiseless repirable dust sampler' and for 4 days over noise pollution levels using 'sound level meter'.

Climate is a major driver of forest species distributions and the growth rate and structure of forests. Thus, climate change can potentially have significant effects on mountain forest hydrology, particularly the amount of water available downstream. However, many other factors influence forest biomass and mountain hydrology, and climate change effects cannot be viewed in isolation from previous land use histories (i.e. forest legacies), altered disturbance regimes (e.g. fire frequency, insect outbreaks, floods) and invasive species.
