Legal aspects of Narmada water disputes

There are many rivers in India which flow from one state to another. The planning of river basin proceeds in rational way by assessing the requirements of each sub-basin bounded by the principal tributaries. A complaint was filed by Gujarat on 6th July 1968 for appointment of the Tribunal under Inter-State Water Disputes Act 1956.

Effect of edta, potassium ferrocyanide and sodium potassium tartarate on production of ethanol from jaggery

Effect of chelating agents, which include EDTA, Potassium Ferrocyanide and Sodium Potassium tartarate on ethanol production from jaggery using Saccharomyces cerevisiae NCIM 3241, was tested. It was found that addition of chelating agents along with inoculum gave better results and among the three chelating agents EDTA resulted in 72g11 of ethanol, which is 33.3% more when compared to the control.

Public transport service should live up to certain acceptable standards of quality, comfort and safety before it could gain public patronage. There are of course costs involved, but the people and their quality of life must come first if we destroy public transport we shall be condemned to re-invent it-but at a huge price in terms of environmental degradation, loss of time, traffic jams and the denial of the joys of urban living.

Physico-chemical analysis of Pochampad Dam back water of Godavari river on Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh border

Water samples were collected from different places in Godavari River located at Sangam point in Maharashtra and Basar point in Andhra Pradesh. The results obtained are compared with drinking water standard (BIS-10500). The results obtained envisaged that pH value of drinking water samples were slightly neutral but the maximum pH was recorded in the site III at Bastar point (Andhra Pradesh) sampling location and minimum value 7.22 was noticed in site III at Sangam point.
