Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Kudrat Sandhu Vs State of Punjab & Others dated 30/11/2018 regarding application to stop the project undertaken by M/s Metro Econ Green Resorts Pvt. Ltd. at village Palanpur, District Rupnagar. According to the applicant, the land used in the project is the forest land and the project was initiated without any prior approval/clearance required under the law. Permission under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 was obtained only on 13.04.2015 but the project had started much earlier. The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) started construction of a road leading to the resort at an estimated cost of Rs. 29 crores.

National Green Tribunal dismisses the application as the case is not within the scope of sections 14 and 15 of the National Green Tribunal Act, 2010.
